The Facility

This 5-acre pet services facility consists of one environmentally controlled kennel building housing a total of 7 indoor suites, 2 fenced in outdoor play areas, 1 large enough for group play, and owner's home.   The kennel building has its own bathing room, grooming area, food preparation area, reception area,  and a stereo system for the guests' enjoyment. Kennels are sized to accommodate larger guests and multiple guests whose owners want their pets boarded together.

 Canine guests are provided with blankets, toys and individual food and water dishes. We provide cats with furniture, toys and individual water and food dishes.  You may bring any of your pet's belongings that may make their stay more enjoyable. 


 We are one of two pet care facilities in the area offering pick-up and delivery service for our boarding clients. 


 We offer flexible drop-off and pick-up times for your convenience, such as evenings and weekends.  


    • We offer grooming and boarding at a single location.
    • We are one of two facilities in the area who are members of the American Boarding Kennel Association.
    • We are one of the few facilities in the area that offer tours of our facility without appointment. We encourage pet owners to tour our facilities to see for themselves the cleanliness of our facility, where their pet will stay, and how our facility operates.    

Staff

Spirit Kennels employs one full-time groomer/bather, one full-time care taker/handler, and a full-time kennel manager. Personnel are cross-trained to perform all non-specialized jobs within the kennel.  The experience level of our specialized employees ranges from ten to twenty years. 


Security
Members of the staff, including the Owner and Kennel Manager, live on the property, providing 24 hour security. The property has 16 online cameras that constantly monitored and record for security reasons.  We employ roving security patrols to further ensure the security of our customer's pets.

Kennels and Boarding Procedures

Policies & Procedures:
We strive to provide the highest quality of pet care possible on the gulf coast. We take the responsibility for caring for your dogs and cats seriously. We understand and respect that they are valued members of your family and have placed the following policies and procedures in effect to ensure that all of our guests and their owners are treated with love care.
HEALTH & SAFETY 
Your pet's health is of the utmost importance to us. All pets must be flea-free and on a flea preventative. Flea baths will be given, at the owner’s expense, to any dog or cat that arrives with fleas or ticks. 

The following vaccinations are required and must be administered at least five days prior to check-in:

DOGS: DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella, and a negative fecal test. Copy must be kept at kennel during your pets stay.

CATS: FVRCP and Rabies. 

We suggest that you have your veterinarian email your pet's shot records to us as soon as you make your reservation. 
We will not accept your pet without proof of vaccinations.

We do not accept cats that have Feline Leukemia Virus or Feline HIV. 

 We cannot admit any pet with stitches, bandages, a cast, head cone, or splint. These pets have special needs that can be better serviced in a veterinarian/hospital setting. We cannot accept any pet that is pregnant or in heat.

Special Puppy and Kitten Precautions
We do not board puppies or kittens under the age of six months. This policy is in place to protect your pet, as their immune systems are not as strong as an adult dog or cat. In addition, we recommend that all puppies or kittens, one year or less, receive their vaccinations at least two weeks prior to check-in.
